With a permanent marker, write the letter “W” and today’s date near the serial number and brand name.
Be careful not to cover either serial number or brand name / logo with permanent marker.
Snap a digital photo of the defective cylinder:
-
The digital photo should contain the cylinder valve, serial number, handwritten date marking, refrigerant type, refrigerant brand and weight in lbs. See example below.
-
It is important that all markings and elements are clear and legible.
-
If a single digital photo is not possible, multiple photos may be submitted for each warranty claim.
IMPORTANT! Please retain defective cylinder for a period of 60 days (Hold Period) following submission of your warranty credit request. Defects may require visual inspection or to be shipped back to a Dynatemp facility for final approval.
The procedure for disposal of empty cylinders can be found in AHRI’s 2016 Guideline for Proper Content Recovery & Recycling of Refrigerant Cylinders. This document is available for download here.
Cylinders that contain any amount of residual refrigerant may be submitted to your reclaim partner after your warranty claim has been processed and the Hold Period has expired.
